Carbon Structure
Activated carbon by its very nature is an odor magnet. Each granule of carbon has a specific amount of odor it can hold. When a carbon granule has adsorbed as much odor or VOCs as it can it is saturated and needs to be replaced. Carbon filters cannot be washed to make them useful again.

How long will your carbon filter last? It depends on the environment the filter is in, and the amount of carbon in the filter. For this reason we suggest you replace your carbon filters regularly (every 3-6 months in more severe conditions) and purchase our super carbons which hold more than 10 times more carbon than the standard carbon after filter.
