Finding a Pot Smoke and Odor Solution that Works

There are many unknowns in the realm of cleaning weed smoke and odor from the air. The volume of air purification needed is certainly one of the least known aspects. We measure air purifying volume with 2 sets of volume. The first measurement is an air purifier’s ability to filter air. This volume is expressed as CFM (cubic feet of air purification per minute). The second measurement is how many times the air in a space is cleaned every hour. This is expressed as ACH (Air Changes per Hour). We have developed a calculating tool to show you how many CFM you need based on the air changes per hour needed for your needs.

A smoke eater has a finite volume of air it can clean, this is reported as its volume or CFM. As the level of smoke increases more passes or cleaning cycles are required to clean the air. So, as the number of smokers increases so the number of air changes per hour increases along with it.

The CFM calculator below allows you to input data like room size, number of people smoking to give you an estimation of the CFM required for your space.

Removing marijuanna smoke can be accomplished using a good quality particle filter. In this article we will look at the 2 most popular smoke particle filters on the market. There are arguments for both types of filtration. This article will attempt to educate you so you can make a product choice that will work best for you.

Removing weed odor on the other hand is a complex problem. The reason for this is that weed odor is very complex in it’s very nature. We will look at a proven system for removing weed odor. Not only are our customers looking for a solution for weed smoke odor but also for the odor associated with growing, handling and storage of cannabis. Many times, a customer is looking to remove odors only. A dispensary is a good example of a customer who only want to remove odor. We will look at that option in the second section of commercial products.

LakeAir offers 3 different models that lend themselves well to use in the home and office. These units offer different mounting options and we will take a look a the mounting options to help you determine what mounting option and model is the best fit for you unique use. This Calculator will help you detirmine how much air purification you need

ACH and CFM How many do I Need?

ACH is the number of times the entire volume of air in a room is moved through the air purifier per hour. For example, an ACH of eight would mean that the entire volume of air in the room is moved through the air purifier 8 times in one hour. CFM, on the other hand, is a measure of the amount of air that the air purifier can move through itself in one minute. This indicates the air purifier’s airflow capacity and how quickly it can filter the air.

The number ACH (air changes per hour) needed to remove smoke and odor from a room is determined by the amount of smoke and odor being created. Each person smokes at a slightly different rate. The type of weed being smoked, how it is being smoked are contributing factors too. We have talked to many pot smokers and the numbers we use has come from our customers. They have told us how much filtration they need and the calculator above reflects that customer input. The calculations are certainly not exact but give a good indication of air purification needs for people who smoke the herb.

What our customers have told us is that one person smoking can do well with around 8 air changes per hour.  A couple friends enjoying a joint are likely to need in the area of 12 air changes per hour.  What we find is that as you add a smoker you also add a need for 4 air changes per hour. After the 20 air changes per hour level, it seems to level off with a maximum need of 24 air changes per hour. When it comes to calculating air changes per hour, the only type of smoking that needs more air filtration is hookah

The Secret to Removing Weed Smoke & Odor

Hemp plants contain terpenes

Cannabis is a complex plant that produces at least 16 different terpenes, which are a significant part of what makes pot smoke so difficult to control. These terpenes are classified as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and can be a challenge to remove from the air.

According to a report from Science Today, cannabis cultivation in Colorado is estimated to produce as much as 3.5% of the state’s total VOCs. To effectively control and eliminate these gasses and odors, a good filter media is essential for both growing and smoking the plant.

The most important ingredient in the secret recipe for removing pot smell is a media that can absorb complex gasses. Activated carbon can do a fair job on its own, but adding another compound to the media can make it more effective. However, the second part of the secret is equally important: long exposure to the absorption media.

At our company, we use a combination of activated carbon and other materials to create a custom filter media that is specifically designed to remove the terpenes and other VOCs associated with cannabis. Our filters are designed to provide long exposure times to ensure maximum effectiveness.

If you’re looking for a way to control and eliminate the gasses and odors associated with cannabis cultivation and smoking, our custom filter media is the solution you need.

Cannablend Filters at LakeAir - Made from Activated Carbon and Zeolite

If you’re looking for a reliable solution to remove weed smoke and odor from your home, LakeAir’s Cannablend is the product for you. Unlike traditional air purifiers that use basic filters, Cannablend is designed with a complex combination of absorbing media to effectively remove the harmful chemicals and odors associated with weed smoke.

At LakeAir, we understand that proper airflow is just as important as the quality of the absorbing media. That’s why our powerful smoke purifiers for weed provide a sufficient number of air changes per hour (ACH) to ensure the air in your home is effectively purified. With our Cannablend filters, you can rest assured that your home will be free from the harmful effects of weed smoke and odor.

But our Cannablend filters aren’t just effective for weed smoke and odor. They also work well for cigar smoke and smoke caused by wildfires. With the recent surge in wildfires across the country, having a reliable air purifier like Cannablend is more important than ever. So, whether you’re a weed smoker or just want to ensure the air in your home is clean and healthy, Cannablend filters from LakeAir are the perfect solution.

At LakeAir, we are focused on providing our customers with only the best and most powerful weed smoke eliminators like Cannablend. Our Maxum, LAFC, and LA2 units are designed to eliminate the smoke caused by smoking, cooking, and even wildfires.

Why Cannablend?

Cannablend is a special media blend made from activated carbon and zeolite. Zeolite is a naturally occurring crystalline compound with over 40 different varieties that are commercially produced on a large scale for filtration purposes. Hydrosil, a leading company providing filtration media for remediation, water, and air filtration, impregnates zeolite with potassium permanganate to create a super absorption media called Cannablend.

Cannablend’s unique combination of activated carbon and zeolite impregnated with potassium permanganate makes it an excellent filtration media for weed smoke odor removal. It works particularly well on the acetic gasses, aldehydes, and amines released by cannabis smoke due to the special cleansing properties of zeolite.

Moreover, zeolite has been reported to work well as a soil additive, improving water conservation and nutrient retention. This same property can enhance the harvest of many plants, including hemp. Therefore, Cannablend is not only useful for removing smoke and odor but can also help a marijuana crop grow.

In summary, Cannablend is an effective filtration media for weed smoke odor removal due to its unique combination of activated carbon and specially impregnated zeolite. It also has the added benefit of being useful in improving soil conditions for plant growth.

How Much Airflow?

Gases, including odor molecules, are incredibly small particles that can slip past both zeolite and activated carbon. However, every time they pass through the odor control media, there is a chance they will be absorbed. The longer they are in contact with the media bed, the greater the chance of their removal from the air stream.

As a general guideline, LakeAir’s team recommends eight to twelve air changes per hour (ACH) to effectively remove odor gases from the air. However, some gases are more easily removed than others. In the case of acetic gases from weed smoke, it can take much longer to remove them from the air. Therefore, it’s important to increase the contact time between the odorous gases and the filtering media to ensure effective removal.

To determine the amount of airflow required to achieve eight air changes per hour in a specific room size, LakeAir has a handy airflow calculator available on our website. Simply enter the dimensions of your room, and the calculator will provide you with the necessary cubic feet per minute (CFM) of airflow required to achieve the recommended ACH for effective odor removal.

It’s worth noting that the number of ACH required may vary depending on the severity of the odor problem and the sensitivity of the individuals in the environment. Additionally, it’s essential to ensure that the air purifier you select has an appropriate airflow rate for the room size in question. A unit with too little airflow will not effectively remove odors, while one with too much airflow can create excessive noise and drafts.

Be Responsible at Home

Cannabis is becoming a regular part of many people’s lives. More and more states are legalizing the use of marijuana. As the use of cannabis continues to grow it is important to use it responsibly in our homes.

If you live in an apartment complex or a shared living space, you need to consider the impact that your cannabis use might have on others. We should be respectful of our neighbors and those living with us and provide them with a smoke-free and odor free environment.

There is little doubt that smoking and growing weed indoors has an impact on the air quality. The smoke and odor from cannabis can quickly build up in our homes and impact the health and overall enjoyment of others. You would be amazed how many people purchase air purifiers to remove the smell of their next-door neighbors smoking habit.

While it is legal to enjoy your weed, you should be mindful of those around you and do your best to create an environment that allows everyone to be safe and enjoy their life. An air purifying product like the weed smoke eaters from LakeAir can remove both smoke and odor of your weed from the air.

Removing smoke and odor protects those around us from the dangers of secondhand smoke. If you have pets remember that the smoke gets into their fur and their food. These dangers are real for our pets and our loved ones. So, take steps to protect those around you.

Public Social Enjoyment of Weed

Cannabis consumption has become a social activity and many establishments are now catering to this demand by offering safe and legal places to enjoy marijuana. These commercial locations are known as “Cannabars” and are popping up across the United States, from Moe Greens in San Francisco to Queens Green Apothecary in Virginia Beach.

As the cannabis industry continues to grow, more entrepreneurs are looking to open Cannabars and dispensaries. To do so, they must navigate a complex web of licensing, security, financing, and location requirements. However, with the right planning and execution, these businesses can be highly successful.

Currently, only 10 states allow onsite consumption in licensed cannabis consumption businesses, with local communities able to add further conditions. It is important to note that many of these local codes require strict air purification measures to remove smoke and odor from the premises.

To ensure compliance with these regulations, businesses can turn to commercial air purification solutions. At [Brand Name], we offer a range of products specifically designed to remove smoke and odor from indoor environments, making them an ideal choice for Cannabars and dispensaries.

By investing in high-quality air purification solutions, business owners can create a safe and enjoyable environment for their customers while also meeting regulatory requirements. At LakeAir, we are committed to helping businesses in the cannabis industry succeed by providing effective and reliable air purification solutions.
