As we traveled further down that rabbit hole we did see a unit with 1400 CFM that cost $10,000.00. LakeAir Provides wall mounting brackets for it LA2 commercial air purifier line. These mounts are constructed from heavy gauge steel and tubing. They are securely fastened to the wall with lag bolts or other commercial fasteners. These brackets should be screwed into wall studs. The unit should be positioned with the control facing away from the wall. This allows for easy access to replace and maintain filters as needed. The purified air enters one end of the air purifying unit and passes through it and travel down the wall away from the commercial air cleaner.

VOC extraction and odor control are the same thing. It is a common commercial filter application request we hear. Many companies are looking to reduce odor and fumes from their manufacturing processes. Our VOC extracting filters can be customized based on the needs of the customer. We work with our media suppliers to identify the best blend of odor and fume adsorbers for any particular chemical or chemical blend. All of this is done at no extra cost. Removing VOC (volatile organic compounds) is not always a straight forward process. Most of these gases can be removed by activated carbon. Activated carbon has a surface that is filled with nooks and crannies where gaseous molecules can be trapped. Other gases have a slippery nature and can slide pass the carbon trap. These molecules are better trapped in the sieve like structure present by zeolite. We will make a custom blend of activated carbon and zeolite to remove the greatest amount of VOC’s from the air in your facility.
When carbon is activated it splits the carbon crystal with many fissures, holes, cracks and crevices. Odor molecules, as they pass the carbon pieces are attracted to the carbon ang cling to the carbon through the force of adsorption. This force is very powerful for many substances. Other substances slip right through the carbon. These substances are often long chain amino acids. To effectively trap these molecule groups another type of media must be employed. The most readily available media with a structure suitable to capture these molecules is Zeolite.
Zeolite has a crystalline structure that traps molecules like a net. the crystalline structure of zeolite is much smaller than a micron. Their structure is measured in Angstroms. an angstrom is 10,000 times smaller than a micron. So the sieve of zeolite is between 3 and 8 angstroms across. This tiny structure is amazing at capturing odors. Single molecules are smaller than the sieve, but most of the odors are molecule chains and will be effectively removed from the air steam. By mixing the 2 media types we can effectively remove VOCs and odors from the air in your commercial building.
The Pandemic led LakeAir to develop their own VOC Filters. Significant kill rates for viruses of all types was the main aim in our development. With this goal in mind we used high wattage bulbs with little spacing between bulbs. This design made for large kill zones.
