The voltage multiplier is used in all the power supplies of LakeAir Air Purifier. This part increase the voltage from 2000 volts to 8000 volts DC. This part has the ability to store a charge so it is important to ground the center pin before handling it. The voltage multiplier has no moving parts so it is less likely to fail. The output of this part is far beyond the capacity of most volt meters. Testing this part with a standard volt meter is likely to damage the meter.
How to Install
The power supply of your electrostatic air purifier has a transformer and a voltage multiplier. The illustration below shows that the leads from the transformer are attached to the two outside terminals. The middle terminal is the high voltage output and is connected to the electrostatic cell in different ways depending on what model air purifier you have.
